Give a fruit tree to a family
Give a fruit tree to a family
Give a family a source of food and income!
Since 1988, Salt of the Earth has planted over 350,000 trees in South India. Fruit trees not only help mitigate the effects of climate change, but offer an opportunity for poor families to earn an income. In the Indian climate, trees grow fast and can produce yields of fruits within their first few years of life.
Fruit trees were heavily requested by rural families during the recent visit to our projects in India. Help us meet the needs of the people we support.
The villages we work in are situated miles away from shops and markets and families live below the poverty line. Having a fruit tree at home means that villagers need to travel less, hence saving them precious finances and gives families access to nutritious food.
All donated fruit trees will be grown organically and SOTE village workers will support families with wastewater harvesting.
This gift will provide one fruit tree sapling to a rural poor family in Tamil Nadu, India.
