A fundraising event was held at Chef & Spice Restaurant, on Hinckley Road, Leicester on Tuesday 12th September to raise money for SOTE. The event was organised by Jane Hammond, a long term SOTE supporter. In total 87 people came and £1,100 was raised for SOTE’s work in India.

Friends and supporters of SOTE said “we thoroughly enjoyed the evening” and “I just wanted to say a big thank you for organising the event. We really enjoyed both the food and the people. There was a lovely atmosphere and we went home feeling really contented (and full!)"

Jane said, "The event was easy to organise, ran very smoothly and I enjoyed doing it. The buffet style food was really good and staff at the restaurant were pleasant and friendly. Chef and Spice has a great formula for helping charities to fundraise. Organisers sell tickets for £15, the restaurant takes £6 and the other £9 goes directly to the charity. It was really encouraging that so many people came!"
