Dear Supporters,

Thousands of people are facing starvation in the villages we support in Tamil Nadu because of the government lockdown. These are people who, for one reason or the other, do not have government ration cards and are outside the system. This means they are not entitled to government food aid and, because they have had no work for weeks, they have no money to buy food. Some in this category are north Indian migrant workers who are completely stranded as a result of the closure of state borders.

Our three excellent partner organisations can purchase enough food locally and they have the skills, ability, and permission to deliver it to those in need. All that remains to be done is to get money to them so these people can be fed.

Our partners need around £600 per day to feed the several thousand people who have no means of providing for themselves. This food relief work has already started, and it will be needed for many more weeks.

We are asking you, therefore, to give as generously and as quickly as you can. This is a life or death situation. It costs £1 per day to feed 2 families. £10 will feed 100 people. £100 will feed 6 families for a month. Every penny that you give will be sent directly to our project partners in Tamil Nadu without any deductions.
